On Thursday, Nov 12, Head Over Heels, City of Fairfax Parks and Recreation, and the USO hosted a Veteran's Day USO dance at the Old Town Hall in Fairfax, VA. The program included great vintage WWII swing dance music by Swing Speak, the national anthem by Jim Metcalf, song and dance by Patti Kuhn, our own Andrew Sisters impersonators (Chuck, Jim, and Bill), and the incomparable SwingEasies.
Enjoy the video highlights below (YouTube). We also have the entire "Ma, He's Making Eyes at Me!" routine posted on YouTube. And be sure to check out all the photos on our Shutterfly page!
All proceeds went to support the USO (www.uso.org).
Thanks to all the volunteers who contributed their talents, time, and energy to make the event a hit: coordinators Stephanie, Julie, Dee, JoAnn, David, Bill, and Jessica (our SwingEasies whip-cracker). Thanks, Charles for the great dance lesson (Mike owe's you one!). And special thanks to Suzanne for filling in for Sherry (we missed you, Sherry!) as our marvelous "cigarette girl".
